OK, I’m going to step over my bounds….probably doesn’t surprise many of you…..but here’s an announcement..

Duke Energy is having a Veterans Day celebration for employees on November 11. I understand it is at Plainfield and Cincinnati locations.

Tom and I have been asked to speak at the presentation to discuss our care package project.
Well, those of you who know me well, know that I couldn’t even speak for 5 minutes in front of a group.
You better give me 20 minutes at the least ! !

I will not be able to attend the presentation.
I would love to see all of you again and meet others, but it just isn’t possible.
Tom will be making the presentation for us.

Doors open at 11:45 at Cincinnati and the tentative schedule shows Tom speaking from 12:40 to 12:45.
The program ends at 1 PM.
I have suggested Duke employees and military heroes Jacob and John to be contacted for the event.
I wish I could be there to meet each of you.

I’ve made a few other suggestions for people to be specifically contacted for the event so don’t be surprised.

Tom and I have also been invited to the annual Veterans’ Day Celebration at Sharonville Elementary School.
It is on November 11 and we won’t be able to attend.
Tom’s brother, Glenn, coordinates this annual event.
You may recall that I attended this presentation in 2008 and the wonderful children of Sharonville Elementary
presented beautiful artwork and letters for us to send to the troops overseas.

On Saturday, November 7 at 2PM, there will be a gathering at the Union Township Veterans’ Memorial Park
(Glen Este Withamsville Road and Clough Pike)
to pay honor to the fallen heroes from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

On Veterans’ Day, Batavia will be dedicating their new Veterans’ Day Memorial at The Batavia Township Community Park, 1535 Clough Pike.
The open house begins at 2:30 with the dedication ceremony beginning at 3PM.

Applebee’s invites all Veterans’ and Active Duty Military Personnel to eat at Applebee’s free on November 11.

Golden Corral is having their annual Veterans’ Day Thank You Dinner.
This is free to all Veterans and active military personnel.
This is from 5P to 9P at all Golden Corral restaurants.
Tom and his father are both Veterans and will be attending.
I won’t be attending this year due to my late work schedule.
If you are not a Veteran or current military, you will pay the usual cost.

We usually have a “Meet and Greet” in January every year.
I have thought about this for a long time and I would love to continue this event.
I will set it up for January or February…one in Plainfield area and one in the Cincinnati area.

If anyone has a suggestion where we should meet, please let me know.
This will be Tom and I eating lunch and hoping many of you will stop by and join us.

Sorry, we only plan to purchase our meal but we hope to get to see you again or meet you and your family.

It’s open for all of you and your hero loved ones and your family.
It’s just our chance to meet you and to say hello again to others.
We’d like to thank all of our heroes who keep us free and safe.

Our Webmaster Extraordinaire, Wayne, is updating our website for a new look in 2010. Watch for the changes.

Thank you to all of our military heroes for all they do to keep us free and safe.

Thank you to all of the families who support these heroes.
