October : SFC Danny Writes
Gina,
I am sorry I have not gotten the
chance to write you.
I am very privileged to have someone
like you during my deployment sending me care packages ! !
I am under 30 days of leaving
country and going back to my home in Indiana.
I have two daughters and a wonderful wife that is waiting for me !
With the packages I got from them and my family and you, this has
made my deployment easier.
Just a little insight on me and
why I was was over here.
I work as a mechanic for the Indiana National Guard.
I was pulled from my original unit and added to the 76 brigade.
During the training I was part of a warrior platoon until we got in country.
When I got to Q-West the leadership found out the leadership in the maintenace
section could not make it and they used me to run the section.
I have numerous soldiers
under me ( can't give actual #'s ) and we
take care
of all our company vehicles. My company puts on hundreds
a day.
This has been the hardest thing I've done in the 15 years in the military.
Well I just wanted to let you
know how things were over here for me
and a little about myself for all the great things you have done for me
to keep my spirits up !
Hope you keep this program up
!
I know you told me in one of your first letters to me how you got my
name, but I don't remember.
However it happen I thank you for everything ! ! !
Thank you !
All is well in Iraq
SFC Danny
