January 2010 Newsletter

Where did 2009 go?

November 2009 was our 1 year anniversary for the Patt Family website.
Making it possible to inform all our Angels and Viewers of the Patt Family Mission,
while also informing our viewers of the e-mails and letters we have received from our Troops
whom we have mailed cards and care packages.

It’s 2010 and a new decade begins.

It’s a good time to reflect on the past year.

· We had a Meet and Greet at the Olive Garden on Beechmont in January of 2009.
We had a great time with several friends.

We had a Meet and Greet planned for the Indianapolis area but it was canceled due to lack of interest.

· We attended several Whole in My Heart and VVA Chapter 649 meetings.
Our involvement has not been so active in the recent months.

· We spent many months in the planning meeting for the Welcome Home Celebration.
The event was a huge success despite the rainy day.
We were able to see Gene again and meet his hero son, Dave.

· We participated at the Military Days Celebration supported by B-105 and Coney Island.
We were joined by many friends from The Thank You Foundation, Eastgate National Guard Recruiters,
Marine Corps Detachment, and VA Hospital.

· Gina began her new career at the Credit Union.

· We made Veterans’ Day cards and sent out over 100 to our military heroes and friends.

· Tom was a guest speaker at Duke’s Veterans’ Day Celebration.
Items were collected by the employees and sent to us for the troops.
We received a donation from Duke for postage for care packages.

· Our webmaster, Wayne, received a Presidential Citation Award from the Vietnam Veterans of America,
  Buckeye Chapter. Congratulations.

Plans are being made for 2010…

· We plan to have a Meet & Greet on Saturday, February 20 in the Cincinnati area.

· We plan to have a Meet & Greet in the Indianapolis area on Saturday, March 6.

· Stamp Your Art Out ! & Verses Rubber Stamp Co. have chosen to create a stamp (for card making and scrapbooking)
  using the quote
"We can't all be heroes because someone has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by." - Will Rogers.
This is the quote Gina uses on e-mails.

· In April, we mark the 6th anniversary of the first care package we sent out and the beginning of this care package project.

· We plan to continue being involved with the Whole in My Heart and VVA Chapter 649 groups.

· No date has been set for the Welcome Home Celebration 2010 but we will be involved in any planning for the event.

· We will continue to send care packages to our military heroes as long as we have a list of those overseas.

We are truly grateful for all of those who support our efforts to send care packages overseas.
We could not continue to send packages without your help.
Together, we make a difference to those heroes overseas who keep us free and safe.

Thank you and God Bless Everyone.

Thank you to all of our military heroes for all they do to keep us free and safe.

Thank you to all of the families who support these heroes.
